A different kind of angels and demons movie, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment‘s Legion was released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 11, 2010, priced at $28.95 and $34.95, respectively.
Filled with visual effects, the horror fantasy film stars Paul Bettany (Creation) as Archangel Michael who’s trying to protect a group of people, including a pregnant woman, at a remote desert truck stop as the apocalypse begins. Dennis Quaid (Pandorum), Lucas Black (Jarhead) and Tyrese Gibson (Transformers) also star.
Earning $40 million in theaters, Legion scored a dismal 19% approval on Rotten Tomatoes, but Sony is plumping up the home video release.
Both the DVD and Blu-ray offer three featurettes:
- “Creating the Apocalypse”
- “Humanity’s Last Line of Defense”
- “From Pixels to Picture”
And the Blu-ray also has a picture-in-picture track, Sony’s BD-Live MovieIQ database and a downloadable digital copy of the movie.
