Dirty Dancing has to be one of the most released movies on DVD and Blu-ray, but Lionsgate calls this one “the most complete and collectible edition” to date. The Dirty Dancing Limited Keepsake Edition debuted on May 4, 2010, as a two-DVD set of two-disc Blu-ray set, priced at $29.98 and $34.99, respectively.
And Lionsgate might be right in its assessment of the editions, because they will offer some new special features, as well as a 52-page hardcover commemorative book. Packaged in a collectible box, each set will include a $50 coupon for fans to stay at the “real” Kellerman’s Resort (Mountain Lake Hotel in Virginia).
Starring Jennifer Grey and the late Patrick Swayze, the 1987 film that made “No one puts Baby in a corner” a household quote is about the summer when Grey’s character Baby goes to a resort and discovers romance and new skills with a little dirty dancing with Swayze. The movie made the song “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” a classic date song.
The new special features on the DVD and Blu-ray are:
