Not to be confused with Disney’s Oceans, BBC released its own Oceans documentary on DVD on June 8, 2010.
BBC’s Oceans is an eight-part television series that explores more than 50 locations, from the frozen Acrtic ice-sheets to black holes in the Caribbeans and deep submerged caves in Mallarco.
Filmed in a year, Oceans features explorers led by expert diver Paul Rose, who has done more than 6,000 dives and was the base commander of a research station in Antarctica for 10 years.
The three-DVD set, priced at $39.98, shows creatures, shipwrecks and other wonders beneath the surface of the ocean.
On June 29, 2010, BBC delivered its documentary TV series How the Earth Changed History. Created by the producers of Earth: The Biography and Walking With Dinosaurs, How the Earth Changed History looks at how the planet’s geological forces have shaped human civilization, the success or failure of societies, as well as influenced art, industry, religion and war.
How the Earth Changed History is hosted by Iain Stewart (Earth: The Biography) and aired on National Geographic Channel on June 20-22, 2010. On DVD, it was priced at $29.98, and on Blu-ray it was priced at $34.99.
Both titles are distributed by BBC distributor Warner Home Video.
