Romantic comedy The Bounty Hunter arrived on DVD and Blu-ray on July 13, 2010.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment‘s movie brings together Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler, neither a stranger of romantic comedy: Aniston’s The Break-Up and Love Happens and Butler’s The Ugly Truth. Plus, the film’s directed by Andy Tennant, who helmed romantic comedies Hitch and Sweet Home Alabama.
In The Bounty Hunter, Butler plays a bounty hunter who’s hired to track down his ex-wife, a reporter who has gotten herself into trouble. Of course, nothing’s simple for this former couple, and soon they’re both on the run.
The movie ran in theaters with pretty dismal reviews (Rotten Tomatoes‘ critics/users average is 8% approval), but it still grossed a health $64 million at the box office.
Both the DVD and Blu-ray include three featurettes:
- “Making of The Bounty Hunter“
- “Stops Along the Road: Hunting Locations”
- and “Rules for Outwitting a Bounty Hunter.”
The Blu-ray also offers Sony’s MovieIQ BD-Live feature, which provides trivia about the film as the movie is playing. Plus, the Blu-ray will have a downloadable digital copy for PC, PSP, Mac or iPod.
The DVD was priced at $28.95 and the Blu-ray at $38.96.
