Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment release the adventure movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time on DVD and Blu-ray on Sept. 14, 2010.
Based on the hit videogame, the film stars Jake Gyllenhaal (Zodiac) as a rogue prince who must go on the run with a princess with attitude (Gemma Arterton of Clash of the Titans) to protect a magical dagger that can reverse time. Sir Ben Kingsley (Shutter Island) and Alfred Molina (An Education) also star.
Prince of Persia grossed $89.5 million in theaters.
For the home, the PG-13-rated movie was released as a single DVD ($29.99), single Blu-ray ($39.99) and three-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack ($44.99). The three-disc version includes a downloadable digital copy.
All versions have the behind-the-scenes featurette “An Unseen World: Making Prince of Persia.”
The single Blu-ray also includes a deleted scene.
And the three-disc Blu-ray adds the interactive feature “CineExplore: The Sands of Time,” with which viewers can use the daggar to unlock making-of secrets, including “Walking Up Walls,” “Filming in Morocco” and “Ostrich Jockey Tryouts.”
