New Release: Grindhouse Blu-ray

Death Proof

Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof and Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror, collectively Grindhouse, were released on Blu-ray on Oct. 5, 2010, from The Weinstein Company and Vivendi Entertainment.

The two horror movies grossed $25 million when they ran in theaters in 2007. In Death Proof, Kurt Russell stars as a stuntman turned serial killer hunting the likes of Zoe Bell, Vanessa Ferlito and Sydney Tamiia Poitier. Planet Terror stars Rose McGowan (also in Death Proof) as go-go-girl-turned-vigilante Cherry Darling, who joins a one-man wrecking crew to battle a horde of flest-eating zombies. The movie also stars Bruce Willis and Lost‘s Naveen Andrews.

The two-disc Blu-ray set ($39.95) includes both films back-to-back, the way they were shown in theaters, complete with intermission cards and trailers for Don’t, Werewolf Women of the SS and Thanksgiving.

Plus, the movies come packing a bunch of special features, some released on earlier DVDs, but plenty of new ones too. Here’s the full list:
