Stomp the Yard: Homecoming movie sceneThe sequel to the 2007 $75 million-grossing box-office hit Stomp the Yard, Stomp the Yard: Homecoming debuted on DVD and Blu-ray/DVD combo pack on Sept. 21, 2010, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The dance movie stars Collins Pennie (TV’s Hawthorne) as a student and new fraternity pledge who is trying to balance school, work, relationships and the opportunity to perform at the nattionally televised step competition during homecoming weekend. Stomp the Yard: Homecoming also features Kiely Williams (The Cheetah Girls), Keith David (Death at a Funeral) and an appearance from the original Stomp the Yard‘s Columbus Short, who served as executive producer of the movie.

Rob Hardy (The Gospel) directed the musical film.

Stomp the Yard: Homecoming was show in film festivals, but did not receive a theatrical run.

The DVD was priced at $24.96 and Blu-ray/DVD combo pack at $30.95. Both include just three special features:

  • deleted scenes
  • featurette “Stomp on the Yard: Choreography”
  • and a filmmaker and cast commentary.
