Blu-ray, DVD Release: Jolene

Entertainment One issued the drama Jolene on DVD and Blu-ray on Nov. 23, 2010, for a suggested retail price of $24.98 each.

Based on the story Jolene: A Life by E.L. Doctorow, which was originally published in the New Yorker in 2002, the film stars Dermot Mulroney (Zodiac), Chazz Palminteri (The Dukes), Denise Richards (Deep in the Valley) and Jessica Chastain (Stolen) in the title role.

Jolene tells the story of a young woman (Chastain) who, having grown up in a succession of foster homes, has a serious run-in with the law. She embarks on a decade-long cross country adventure, where she experiences the life, love, heartbreak and freedom that has eluded her for so long.

Produced in 2008, the movie played the film festival circuit to generally good reviews and even an award: Ms. Chastain received the Golden Space Needle Award for Best Actress at the 2008 Seattle International Film Festival.
