New Release: Coopers’ Christmas DVD

Coopers’ Christmas, a holiday comedy starring Jason Jones and Samantha Bee of TV’s The Daily Show, arrived on DVD from Anchor Bay on Nov. 16, 2010. The movie carries a suggested retail price of $26.98.

An unabashedly lewd and crude film, Coopers’ Christmas turns back the clock to Dec. 25, 1985, when suburban husband and father Gord Cooper (Jones) accepted a “barely used” VHS video camera from a creepy neighbor to settle a $2,000 debt. Gord then gave the camera to his family as their Christmas gift. A holiday celebration featuring crappy presents, mean grandmas, drunk uncles and slutty cousins — all captured on tape — is the result of the technologically advanced gift.

Directed by Warren Sonoda and starring Dave Foley (TV’s The Kids in the Hall), Coopers’ Christmas (which was originally titled Coopers’ Camera) includes the following DVD special features:

  • audio commentary with director Warren P. Sonoda and producer Sean Buckley
  • Coopers’ Christmas: Where Genius Colludes With Inspiration”
  • and a trailer.
