Deadliest Catch TV show sceneDiscovery Channel‘s Emmy-winning documentary TV show Deadliest Catch came to DVD in a sixth season box set on Sept. 28, 2010.

Deadliest Catch follows five boat skippers and their crews as they head into the dangerous Bering Sea to claim $100 million in crab.

In the sixth season, Northwestern Captain Sig Hansen, a 30-year veteran and third generation fisherman, matches skills with old rivals Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie, the Hillstrand brothers of the Time Bandit and Captain Keith Colburn of the Wizard. Joining them is Skipper Wild Bill and his crew on the F/V Kodiak. As well as battling the rough seas, the captains battle each other and one fights for his life.

Priced at $49.95, Deadliest Catch: Season 6 includes five DVDs with all the episodes of the season as well as a bonus episode called “After the Catch” that pays tribute to the late Captain Harris.

Other bonuses include the fleet’s exploration of the havoc caused by the oil spill off the Gulf Coast and a Cash Cab episode featuring the captains.

Season six was the highest-rated season of the Discovery Channel’s show.
