New Release: Robert Klein Unfair & Unbalanced DVD

HBO Home Entertainment released the DVD of veteran comedian Robert Klein’s ninth HBO comedy special, Robert Klein: Unfair & Unbalanced, on Dec. 14, 2010, for the suggested retail price of $19.97. The show originally aired on HBO in June 2010.

Robert Klein made HBO history when he starred in the network’s first “On Location” stand-up comedy special in 1975. Since then, his wry observations, original songs and bluesy harmonica playing have made him a favorite of HBO and viewers alike.

For the trivia-minded, here are the titles and years of Klein’s eight previous HBO gigs: An Evening With Robert Klein (1975), Robert Klein Revisited (1977), Robert Klein at Yale (1982), Robert Klein: Child of the 50s, Man of the 80s (1984), Robert Klein on Broadway (1986), Robert Klein: It All Started Here (1995), Robert Klein: Child in His 50s (2000), and Robert Klein: The Amorous Busboy of Decatur Avenue (2005).

In Unfair & Unbalanced, which was taped at the Amaturo Theater in Fort Lauderdale in early 2010, Klein grapples with such contemporary issues as political indiscretions and hypocrisy in Washington; the challenges of opening plastic packaging; bizarre sales techniques; pharmacological concert experiences; unusual movie love scenes; TV and pop culture; job outsourcing; medicinal herbs; gay marriage; and, of course, President Barack Obama.

HBO DVDs are distributed by Warner Home Video.
