Image Entertainment issued the family fantasy film 16 Wishes on DVD and Blu-ray on Nov. 16, 2010, for the suggested retail prices of $27.97 and $29.97, respectively.
Helmed by TV show director Peter DeLuise (Stargate SG-1), the TV movie takes an inside look into the life of teenage girl Abigail Jensen (Debby Ryan, TV’s The Suite Life on Deck), who wants to gain the attention of her crush, get the Ford Mustang she’s always dreamed of, and become the most fashionable and popular girl in school on her 16th birthday.
While her best friend, Jay Kepler (Jean-Luc Bilodeau, TV’s Kyle XY) and she await the bus, a delivery truck pulls up and delivers a package of 16 candles to Abby. Although the morning of her birthday did not match her idea of the “perfect 16th birthday,” her special day gets a whole lot brighter when she realizes that the candles correspond to the 16 wishes from her secret list and they each would come true indefinitely.
After several of her wishes come true, her ninth wish goes terribly wrong and leaves Abby desperate to find a way to break the “wish rules”. She soon learns that sometimes, you don’t realize what you have until it’s gone.
16 Wishes originally premiered on The Disney Channel in June.
