Call Feb. 8, 2011, I Spit On Your Grave Day. Anchor Bay Entertainment released both the original 1978 and 2010 remake of the horror movie on DVD and Blu-ray that day in unrated editions.
Also known as Day of the Woman, the original film stars Camille Keaton as Jennifer Hills, a novelist who rents an out-of-town house to finish her novel. While she’s there, she’s attacked and raped by four men, but after, she hunts them down to seek revenge.
In the R-rated 2010 remake, Jennifer is played by TV actress Sarah Butler. The new movie, which was directed by Steven R. Monroe (It Waits), had a limited release in theaters.
The 1978 movie was released on DVD and Blu-ray with a high-definition transfer and new interview with writer/producer/director Meir Zarchi, who was an executive producer on the new film. It was priced at $19.98 on DVD and $24.99 on Blu-ray.
The 2010 unrated version of I Spit On Your Grave was priced at $29.97 on DVD and $34.99 on Blu-ray and include these special features:
- filmmakers commentary with producer Lisa Hansen and director Steven Monroe
- behind-the-scenes featurette
- and deleted scenes.
