New Release: Sins of My Father DVD

Maya Entertainment released documentary Sins of My Father, about Pablo Escobar, the infamous boss of Colombia’s Medellin drug cartel, on DVD on Jan. 18, 2011. It carried a suggested retail price of $24.98.

Escobar’s life has been the subject of many documentaries, but in this film, his story is told by his son, Sebastian Marroquin (formerly Juan Pablo Escobar), and Escobar’s widow, Maria Isabel Santos.

Sins of My Father (Pecados de mi Padre) recounts what it was like for Marroquin to grow up loving a father that he knew was his country’s number one enemy.

The movie also tracks the story of two of Escobar’s most prominent victims (who were among hundreds that Escobar had killed in the 1980s) as Marroquin tries to break the cycle of revenge and assassination by seeking reconciliation with their sons.

Presented in Spanish with English subtitles, as well as with an optional version dubbed in English, the DVD features a commentary by director Nicolas Entel.
