New Release: The Storm Warriors DVD

Lionsgate released the martial arts action epic The Storm Warriors on DVD on Feb. 15, 2011, for the suggested retail price of $26.98.

A sequel to Wai-keung Lau’s 1998 movie The Storm Riders, The Storm Warriors is based on the popular Hong Kong comic book series Fung Wan.

Directed by The Pang Brothers (Bangkok Dangerous), the movie is the second part in a trilogy and tells the story of two friends, Cloud (Aaron Kwok) and Wind (Ekin Cheng), who seek out the help of a powerful martial arts master (Kenny Ho) when they’re faced with the impending invasion of China by a powerful warlord and his forces.

The Master trains Cloud and Wing to harness the powers of the elements in preparation for them to protect their home. But as the end nears, their friendship is tested and they soon realize they might not be able to both finish on the side of good.

Bonus features on the DVD for the 2009 movie include a pair of behind-the-scenes featurettes.
