New Release: Stone Blu-ray and DVD

Anchor Bay released the thriller Stone on Blu-ray and DVD on Jan. 18, 2011, for the suggested retail prices of $29.99 and $29.98, respectively.

Directed by John Curran (We Don’t Live Here Anymore) and written by Angus MacLachlan (Junebug), the independent film stars Robert De Niro (Meet the Parents) as Jack Mabry, a parole officer days away from retirement. He’s asked to review the case of Gerald “Stone” Creeson (Edward Norton, The Incredible Hulk), who’s in prison for arson.

Eligible for early release, Stone needs to convince Jack he has reformed, but his attempts to use his wife Lucetta (Milla Jovovich, Resident Evil: Afterlife) to influence the older Jack’s decision have profound and unexpected effects on them both. It’s a tale of passion, betrayal and corruption involving two men who are grappling with the darkest impulses.

Stone received a limited release in theaters in the fall of 2010, grossing $1.7 million and receiving critical acclaim for its performances, particularly that of Jovovich and co-star Frances Conroy (TV’s Six Feet Under).

Bonus features on the Stone Blu-ray disc and DVD include a making-of featurette and the theatrical trailer.
