The seventh movie in the horror franchise Saw came out on DVD and Blu-ray on Jan. 25, 2011, and, fittingly, Saw The Final Chapter, a.k.a. Saw 3D was released on Blu-ray 3D the same day.
Directed by Saw veteran Kevin Greutert (director of Saw VI and editor of the first five movies), Lionsgate‘s The Final Chapter follows a group of survivors of the franchise villain Jigsaw (Tobin Bell of Buried Alive) seeking support from a self-help guru, while the dark secrets of one survivor (Sean Patrick Flanery of The Boondock Saints) unleashes a new wave of terror. Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), star of the original Saw, reprises his role of Dr. Lawrence Gordon in this last movie.
The R-rated movie was priced at $29.95 on DVD, $39.99 on Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and $49.99 on Blu-ray 3D/DVD combo pack. (Blu-ray 3D requires a Blu-ray 3D player, 3D TV and special eyewear.)
All three versions will include these special features:
- director and producer commentary
- deleted scenes
- and music videos.
The Blu-ray versions also offer the featurette “52 Ways to Die,” recounting the traps from all the Saw films.
