New Release: It's Kind of a Funny Story DVD and Blu-ray

Quirky comedy It’s Kind of a Funny Story, starring Keir Gilchrist (TV’s United States of Tara), Emma Roberts (The Winning Season) and Zach Galifianakis (Dinner For Schmucks), debuted on DVD and Blu-ray on Feb. 8, 2011, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

In time for Valentine’s Day, the sweet, if offbeat, teen romance tells the story of Craig (Gilchrist), a stressed-out teenager who checks himself into a mental health clinic after he starts dreaming about jumping off a bridge. In the hospital, he discovers an unlikely mentor (Galifianakis) and a new romance (Roberts).

Based on the novel by Ned Vizzini, the PG-13 movie had a limited release in theaters, grossing $6.4 million.

The DVD includes two featurettes:

• “A Look Inside It’s Kind of a Funny Story“
• and “It’s King of a Funny Story Premieres in New York City.”

The Blu-ray contains those plus:

• My Scenes bookmarking feature
• and Pocket Blu, which allows a smartphone to interactive with the Blu-ray player.
