Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released the action movie Faster, starring former wrestler Dwayne Johnson, on DVD
In Faster, Johnson stars with Billy Bob Thornton (Armageddon), Carla Gugino (Sin City) and Tom Berenger (Inception). Johnson plays Driver, an ex-con who thought of one thing during his 10-year incarceration: revenging his brother’s death. Now free, Johnson sets out to find and kill all those responsible, but he’s being chased by two men who want to stop him, a vetern cop (Thornton) and a hit man (Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Going the Distance).
Rated R, Faster grossed only $23 million in theaters, much less than the former Rock’s comedies, including the $91 million-grossing The Game Plan and $60 million Tooth Fairy.
The DVD was priced at $24.96 and the Blu-ray at $34.95.
The Blu-ray includes these special features:
- PS3 theme
- Sony’s MovieIQ+Sync BD-Live feature
- alternate ending with director’s introduction
- deleted scene with director’s introduction
- featurette “Weapons and Wheels: The Guns, Cars and Stunts of Faster“
- and “Bank Heist.”
The DVD only has the alternate ending and deleted scenes.
