New Release: The Paranoids DVD

The Paranoids movie sceneOscilloscope Laboratories released comedy movie The Paranoids, Argentine filmmaker Gabriel Medina’s colorful debut film, on DVD on April 12, 2011.

The film tells the story of thirty-something Luciano Gauna (Daniel Hendler, A Stray Girlfriend), who’s an odd one: a failing screenwriter in Buenos Aires who lives in an almost intense state of paranoia, afraid of everything from STDs to even his doorman. When his childhood friend Manuel (Walter Jakob, Love By Accident), a very successful TV producer, returns from Madrid with his stunning new girlfriend Sofia (Jazmin Stuart, A Wrecked Filmmaker), Luciano’s world is thrown into a near desperate funk.

He discovers that Manuel has unflatteringly modeled him as the lead character on a successful Spanish TV show called The Paranoids, which Manuel is now bringing to Argentina. Luciano’s remaining grip on reality begins to unravel when Manuel leaves on a business trip to Chile and he’s left alone with Sofia and her alluring charms…

No special features are on the DVD of The Paranoids, which received a limited theatrical release in the U.S. on Jan. 22, 2011.

Presented in Spanish with English subtitles, The Paranoids DVD carries a list price of $29.99.
