Actor Adrian Grenier (TV’s Entourage) looks at the other side of celebrity photographs in the documentary Teenage Paparazzo, which aired on HBO and arrived on DVD on March 29, 2011, from Warner Home Video.
The film, which was an Official Selection at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, features a bunch of celebrities loved by the paparazzi, including Cameron Diaz (Knight and Day), Jennifer Lopez (The Back-Up Plan), Alec Baldwin (It’s Complicated), Whoopi Goldberg (For Colored Girls), Eva Longoria Parker (TV’s Desperate Housewives), boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar), singers Britney Spears and Mary J. Blige, models Tyra Banks and Paris Hilton and Grenier’s fellow Entourage stars Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara.
The documentary explores the relationship between celebrities and the people who make a living selling their pictures, including 14-year-old photographer Austin Visschedyk, who inspired Grenier to make this film. Visschedyk’s parents also are interviewed in the movie, offering their perceptions of their son’s “hobby.” Plus, the documentary features psychologists, historians, film critics, fans and tabloid writers talking about celebrity media.
The DVD was priced at $19.98 and includes just one bonus feature: “Snap Shots” with 30 minutes of deleted scenes.
