The 2007 French psychodrama Hidden Love, starring Isabelle Huppert (White Material), Mélanie Laurent (Inglourious Basterds) and Greta Scacchi (Camille), was released on DVD on March 15, 2011, by Entertainment One.

Danielle (Huppert) is a mother who has a very troubling time with motherhood, as she has been consumed with anguished feelings of guilt and inadequacy since the birth of her daughter, Sophie (Laurent).

For her own part, Sophie isn’t all that crazy about her mother, but when she’s with her, Sophie reveals a tender maternal love for her own daughter. Dr.Dubois (Scacchi), meanwhile, is trying to analyze the situation and determine why so many of the women in French dramas lead such tormented inner lives.

Directed by Alessandro Capone, Hidden Love (L’amour cache) received a token limited release in theaters in the U.S. in 2009, but essentially premiered on DVD on these shores.
