New Release: Modern Family Season 2, The Big Bang Theory Season 4, The Middle Season 2, Raising Hope Season 1 DVD

One of the best comedies on TV, Modern Family season 2 is available for pre-order on Amazon, as well as season 2 of The Middle, season 4 of The Big Bang Theory and season 1 of new sitcom Raising Hope.

ABC series Modern Family stars Ed O’Neill (TV’s Married With Children), Sofia Vergara (Media Goes to Jail), Julie Bowen (Crazy On the Outside), Ty Burrell (Morning Glory), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Wonderful World) and Eric Stonestreet (TV’s CSI) as three couples in an extended … well … modern family. The show was created by the great TV comedy team of Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd (not the actor from Back to the Future), the Emmy Award winners behind Frasier and Wings.

The awesome Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond) stars in The Middle, another ABC family sitcom about a mother (Heaton), father (TV’s Scrubs) and three kids (Charlie McDermott, Eden Sher and Atticus Shaffer) trying to survive their semi-dysfunctional life in small-town Indiana. Funny man Chris Kattan (A Night at the Roxbury) also stars.

Golden Globe-winning CBS show The Big Bang Theory follows the exploits of two brilliant but socially awkward physicists (Johnny Galecki of Hancock and Jim Parsons of TV’s Judging Amy) who get to see life outside the laboratory after a sexy woman (Kaley Cuoco, TV’s Charmed) moves into an apartment next door. The show was created by Chuck Lorre (yep, the same one Charlie Sheen has issue with as the head of Two and a Half Men) and Bill Prady (TV’s Gilmore Girls).

And Fox’s new series Raising Hope stars newcomer Lucas Neff as a young man who must raise his baby after the mother, who he had a one-night stand with, ends up on death row. Martha Plimpton (The Goonies) and Cloris Leachman (TV’s Malcolm in the Middle) co-star.

None of these DVD releases have been official announced by the studios, but Amazon reports the following pricing details and dates:

• Modern Family: The Complete Second Season priced at $49.98, arriving Sept. 20
• The Middle: The Complete Second Season priced at $44.98, Sept. 27
• The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Fourth Season on DVD and Blu-ray, priced at $44.98 and $54.97, Sept. 13
• Raising Hope: Season One priced at $39.98 for DVD, Sept. 20.

Although Amazon hasn’t opened pre-orders for a Blu-ray version of Modern Family, the show’s season 1 was released on that format.

The Middle and The Big Bang Theory are distributed by Warner Home Video. Modern Family and Raising Hope are distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
