New Release: Queer As Folk U.K. Complete Collection DVD

Acorn Media will release Queer As Folk – The Original U.K. Series: The Complete Collection on DVD on Sept. 27, for the suggested retail price of $49.99.

The set consists of both seasons of the groundbreaking 1999 British television drama about the lives of a trio of gay men (portrayed by Aidan Gillen, Craig Kelly and Charlie Hunnam) living in Manchester’s gay village around Canal Street. There are 10 episodes in total and they clock in at 3¾ hours.

The TV show’s two seasons were previously issued on DVD in individual sets that are now out-of-print.

Also available on DVD are all five seasons of the American version of the show, which ran on Showtime from 2000 through 2005.

Along with a 20-page booklet with notes by creator/writer Russell T. Davies, there are some two hours-plus of bonus features in the DVD collection, including the following:

  • featurette
  • deleted and extended scenes with commentary
  • more than 130 minutes of interviews
  • trailers
