New Release: The Walking Dead Season 1: Special Edition Blu-ray and DVD

A zombie tends to his lawn in The Walking Dead.

On Oct. 4, 2011, Anchor Bay again released the first season of the hit AMC zombie TV show The Walking Dead, but this time in special edition sets. The Walking Dead: Season 1: Special Edition Blu-ray and DVD arrived in three different version: a Special Edition DVD, Special Edition Blu-ray and Limited Edition Blu-ray Collector’s Tin.

The Special Edition Blu-ray The Walking Dead: Season One carries a list price of $59.99; the Special Edition DVD is priced at $49.98; and the Limited Edition Collector’s Tin Blu-ray carries the price of $89.99.

Each version contains all six episodes from the first season of the popular AMC television series, a horror-thriller-drama. The second season of the hit TV show premiered in October.

And as they’re Special Editions, each come with new behind-the-scenes featurettes, audio commentaries, extra footage and the fan-requested black-and-white version of the pilot episode.

In addition, the Limited Edition Blu-ray Collector’s Tin contains an exclusive wearable zombie mask from NECA designed by series make-up artist Greg Nicotero. The first 100,000 units of the Blu-ray and Limited Edition Collector’s Tin together also include an exclusive Walking Dead trading card.
