They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway for Kermit and the gang when The Muppets Take Manhattan.

Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie and all their felt-covered, fuzzy friends (including Zoot, that cool sax player) take the high-definition Blu-ray route for the very first time with my favorite Muppet movie, The Muppets Take Manhattan.

In the 1984 family musical, the gang hits New York in search of Broadway stardom. You’d think that with all the film’s guest stars — including Joan Rivers, Liza Minelli, Gregory Hines, Brooke Shields and Mayor Ed Koch — the nutty Muppets would be able to find a producer for their show (that’s the movie’s general plot), but it take a long, long time before their musical opens on the Great White Way. Along the way, though, there are enough laughs, songs and Muppet-styled silly happenings to go around for everyone.
