The Cannonball Run30 years after it first screened in theaters, The Cannonball Run is still a fun and funny action movie with plenty to titilate viewers.

Burt Reynolds (Lucky Lady) stars in the 1981 film about the ultimate auto race, an illegal madcap cross-country scramble with fast cars, bizarre drivers and dirty tricks.

Also in the familiar cast, directed by Hal Needham (Smokey and the Bandit), are Roger Moore (For Your Eyes Only), Farrah Fawcett (The Apostle), Dom DeLuise (History of the World), Dean Martin (Airport), Sammy Davis Jr. (Ocean’s Eleven), Adrienne Barbeau (TV’s Carnivale) and Jackie Chan (The Spy Next Door).

The PG-rated film grossed a $72 million in theaters, a tidy sum even today.
