The Guns of Navarone movie scene

Allied saboteurs strike a pose before making their movie in The Guns of Navarone.

In keeping with previous classic films debuting on high-definition by Sony, The Guns of Navarone 50th Anniversary Edition has been newly remastered following an extensive 4K digital restoration from the original camera negative. Other classic Columbia Pictures movies that have undergone 4K restoration efforts for Blu-ray include Dr. Strangelove, The Bridge on the River Kwai and Taxi Driver.

The 50th Anniversary Blu-ray edition of The Guns of Navarone, the classic 1961 World War II film features a hefty load of bonus features, most of which appeared on Sony’s previously released Special Edition DVD.

Directed by J. Lee Thompson (Cape Fear), the film stars Gregory Peck (To Kill A Mockingbird), Anthony Quinn (Lawrence of Arabia) and David Niven (The Pink Panther) as Allied saboteurs assigned to infiltrate an impregnable Nazi-held island and destroy the two enormous long-range field guns held there.

Here’s the list of all the extras on the Blu-ray:
