Created by Shonda Rhines (TV’s Grey’s Anatomy), Scandal is part thriller, part drama, putting a twist on the regular old law series.
The ABC TV show stars Kerry Washington (Mother and Child) as Olivia Pope, a professional fixer who makes problems — the big, juicy, scandalous type — go away before other people know they exist. Although they can manager the crisis of their clients, however, Pope and her team (including Henry Ian Cusick, TV’s Lost) don’t do so well with their problems.
Rated TV14 DLSV, the well-reviewed show is one of four new series whose DVD debut is a week after the finale airs, the others being The River, Missing and GCB.
Scandal debuted to fine if not stellar ratings, but got good reviews from critics, including being called “a big turn-on” and “superb” by the Boston Herald.
The two-DVD set includes all seven episodes of the television series’ first season as well as deleted scenes and featurettes.
