The Great Mouse DetectiveDisney plugs into the Sherlock Holmes revival with the Blu-ray debut of its animated movie The Great Mouse Detective.

The 1986 family film tells the story of Basil, a brilliant Holmes-esque rodent detective and his sidekick Dr. Dawson. When the evil Professor Ratigan kidnaps London’s master toymaker, it’s Basil and Dawson to the rescue.

Classic actor Vincent Price (Edward Scissorhands) lends his voice to Professor Ratigan.

The Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack of the G-rated family film is a The Great Mouse Detective: Mystery in the Mist Edition and comes with these special features:

  • “So You Think You Can Sleuth” introduction to private investigating
  • “The World’s Greatest Criminal Mind” sing-along song
  • “The Making of The Great Mouse Detective“
