My Career As A Jerk movie scene

The Circle Jerks hit the stage in My Career as a Jerk.

The 2011 feature-length documentary film Circle Jerks: My Career as a Jerk chronicles the career of the controversial but seminal L.A. punk band the Circle Jerks.

Formed by ex members of Black Flag and Red Cross (now Redd Kross) in late 1979, the Circle Jerks came to encapsulate the image, sound and energy of California hardcore punk.

Directed by David Markey (1991: The Year Punk Broke), the music-filled movie follows the band from their early days through navigating the independent label and touring scene of the 1980s to the addictions, fights and injuries that forced their break up. The film mixes in-depth interviews with band members and others, rare live footage and historical perspective to illustrate the story of one of the more influential bands in the American underground.

Supplemental materials on the DVD include deleted scenes and bonus interviews.
