Ticks movie scene

Clint Howard suffers the after-effects of a bit from some mutant Ticks.

One of the more ridiculous monster horror movies to emerge from the Nineties, 1993’s Ticks finally makes its DVD and Blu-ray debut.

A group of problem teens from Los Angeles join an inner-city wilderness project in and attempt to get back in touch with life’s priorities; led by do-gooders Holly and Charles (Rosalind Allen and Peter Scolari). When they get to the campsite, they begin having problems adjusting to the wild life, particularly with the local marijuana growers using herbal steroids to accelerate plant growth…and the mutated ticks that the leaky steroid system has created! The oversized mutant ticks with an insatiable lust for human flesh begin to terrorize the campground, eating the campers and everything else in sight.

The cast also includes Ami Dolenz (Miracle Beach), cult icon Clint Howard (The Wraith), Alfonso Ribeiro (TV’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) and the always-fun Seth Green (TV’s Robot Chicken), portraying the first in the line of geeks that have become one of his trademarks.

This 20th Anniversary edition of of the R-rated film contains an audio commentary by director Tony Randel and Clint Howard.
