The Guilt TripThe Guilt Trip is a road trip movie that swaps the usual buddies or romantic couple for a mom and son.

Barbra Streisand (Little Fockers) and Seth Rogen (The Green Hornet) are the mom and son. Rogen plays Andy Brewster, an inventor who’s trying to sell his latest product. When he goes on a cross-country sales trip, he feels compelled to invite his mother, Joyce. During the 3,000 miles of antics, they discover that while they have plenty of differences, they have some things in common too.

The Guilt Trip was directed by Anne Fletcher (27 Dresses) and written by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love), but it didn’t get too much love from critics. Although Richard Roeper called it “a breezy, funny and warm road trip comedy,” Globe and Mail‘s James Adams said, “To its detriment, The Guilt Trip opts to work gently on the heart rather than hard on the funny bone.”

The movie grossed $36.7 million at the domestic box office.

The DVD doesn’t have any special features, but the Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack comes with these:

  • “Barbra & Seth”
  • “Barbra’s World”
  • “Guilt Trip: A Real Mother of a Road Trip”
  • “In the Driver’s Seat”
