2 Guns2013 movie 2 Guns brings us more action from Denzel Washington (Flight) and Mark Wahlberg (Pain & Gain).

The two must go on the run and work together to survive after a drug cartel takedown goes bad. The twist is, they’re both federal agents who were trying to stop the cartel, but neither knows that.

Based on the graphic novel by Steven Grant, 2 Guns also stars Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol), Bill Paxton (Hatfields & McCoys), Fred Ward (30 Minutes or Less), James Marsden (Robot & Frank) and Edward James Olmos (Alambrista). The film was directed Baltasar Kormakur, the helmer of Wahlberg’s Contraband, on a screenplay by first-time feature writer Blake Masters (TV’s Law & Order: LA).

R-rated 2 Guns got decent reviews from critics and moviegoers, 63% and 74% approval, respectively, according to Rotten Tomatoes. As critic Richard Roeper puts it, the movie is “beyond ridiculous but always entertaining. Washington and Wahlberg are terrific.” The film grossed $74.5 million in theaters.

Both the Blu-ray and DVD contain these special features:

  • deleted and extended scenes
  • featurette “Undercover and Into Action” about how the writing styles of graphic novelist Steven Grant and screenwriter Blake Masters merged for the 2 Guns script
  • and a feature commentary with director Baltasar Kormakur and producer Adam Siegel (Drive).

  • “The Good, the Bad and the Sexy” with Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, Paula Patton, Bill Paxton, Edward James Olmos and James Marsden talking about playing their characters
  • “Finding the Vibe” about how the movie’s world was brought to life
  • and “Living Dangerously” with the stuntmen and coordinators crashing, smashing and detonating their way through filming.

The Blu-ray also offers instant streaming and digital copy through UltraViolet.
