Kick Ass 2The high-school superhero in green is back in Kick Ass 2.

In the sequel, Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Savages) again plays nerdy Dave Lizewski, who drops his books and dons his suit to fight bad guys. He partners with the fellow teen hero Hit-Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz, Hugo) to fight evil, and the pair quickly faced with a deadly challenge.

Trying to get revenge for his father’s death, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Pitch Perfect) re-invents himself as the leader of a league of villains. To survive, Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl must team with a new wave of masked crusaders, led by badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey, Mr. Popper’s Penguins).

Although the original film was acclaimed by critics, Kick Ass 2 didn’t get as much love, and grossed a lower $29 million in theaters. The movie got 30% approval by critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but moviegoers liked it better, to the tune of 67%.

Kick Ass 2 Blu-ray boxBased on the comic books by Mark Miller and John Romita Jr., the R-rated film also stars Morris Chestnut (TV’s V), Claudia Lee (TV’s Hart of Dixie) and Clark Duke (Hot Tub Time Machine).
