Momo: The Sam Giancana Story movie sceneThe 2011 documentary film Momo: The Sam Giancana Story details the life of a tough, impoverished kid who rose through the ranks of Chicago’s underworld to become a top member—many say the real godfather—of the most ruthless gangland organization in the country: The Outfit.

Directed and produced by Dimitri Logothetis and produced by Nicholas Celozzi, the great nephew of Giancana, Momo offers a portrait of a man who was known as an infamous crime boss, a loving husband and father, and a generous friend and neighbor. A man who loved power, loved the limelight, and loved his family – all in equal measure.

The film also provides insight into Giancana’s connections with the Kennedy family and how he delivered three states to ensure JFK’s election, and, later, how he may have personally arranged for the President’s assassination. Additionally, Momo looks at Giancana’s affair with Marilyn Monroe and his potential role in her death, as well as his participation in a covert CIA plan to take down Castro in Cuba.

Featuring never-before-seen home videos shot by Giancana himself and interviews with his daughters Bonnie Giancana and Fran Giancana, Momo: The Sam Giancana Story will be available for download on iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, Amazon, and Hoopla on November 19, with a DVD release shortly thereafter.
