The rest is silence for Jason Mewes in Zombie Hamlet.

The undead get Shakespearean in the inevitable 2012 comedy film Zombie Hamlet.

Desperate filmmaker Osric Taylor (Travis Wester, TV’s Ghostfacers) dreams of making his Civil War-era Hamlet, but when production funding dries up, he agrees to take southern matron Hester Beauchamps’ (June Lockhart, TV’s Lost in Space) offer to fund the film if he throws some zombies in it to make their money back. But when Hester dies in mid shoot, Osric dresses up as Hester to cash the last check and awakens the suspicions of both the local police and ambitious local news reporter Shine Reynolds (Shelley Long, TV’s Cheers).

Directed by John Murlowski and written by John McKinney, the independent movie also features Jason Mewes (Jay And Silent Bob Get Old), Melora Hardin (The Dukes) and John Amos (TV’s Good Times) in its cast. Additionally, it includes composed by actor Jackson Rathbone (The Twilight Saga).

Zombie Hamlet premiered at the Palm Beach International Film Festival in 2012. The film’s release on DVD represents its commercial debut in the U.S.
