Alan Partridge movie scene

Steve Coogan is Alan Partridge

Steve Coogan (Our Idiot Brother) reprises his most popular role in the 2013 film comedy Alan Partridge.

A famous local radio DJ and one-time talk show host, Alan (of Norfolk, England) finds himself at the center of a siege when a disgruntled fellow DJ (Colm Meaney, Get Him to the Greek) decides to hold their station hostage after learning that he’s getting sacked by the new management.

The fictional character of Partridge was created by Coogan and Armando Iannucci (HBO’s Veep) for the BBC Radio program On the Hour in the early Nineties. The character has since gone on to appear another radio series, three television series and numerous TV and radio specials (including appearances on BBC’s Comic Relief), and now, his first feature-length movie.

Directed by Declan Lowney, the R-rated Alan Partridge rolled out in Europe in 2013, followed by its internet premiere in February, 2014 and a limited run in U.S. theaters in April, 2014.

Bonus features on the DVD and Blu-ray include the following:

  • Behind the Scenes
  • AXS TV: A Look at Alan Partridge
