OutlanderThe highly anticipated television version of author Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling book series, Outlander didn’t disappoint. The Starz science-fiction, romance series enjoyed record-breaking audience numbers and quickly became a must-see TV. Not a surprise, since the novels have sold more than 26 million copies worldwide.

Outlander: Season 1, Volume 1 stars Caitriona Balfe (Super 8) as Claire Randall, a married combat nurse who, in 1946, mysteriously gets whisked back to 1743. Thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened, Claire’s forced to marry the chivalrous and romantic Scottish warrior Jamie (Sam Heughan, A Princess for Christmas). Their passionate affair splits Claire’s heart between two very different men in two irreconcilable lives.

The show also stars Tobias Menzies (TV’s Game of Thrones), Gary Lewis (Billy Elliot), Graham McTavish (The Hobbit trilogy) and Lotte Verbeek (TV’s The Borgias).

Outlander: Season 1, Volume 1 contains eight episodes: “Sassenach,” “Castle Leoch,” “The Way Out,” “The Gathering Room,” “Rent,” “The Garrison Commander.” “The Wedding” and “Both Sides Now.”
