The great Don Rickles stars as U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Otto Sharkey, an abrasive, sharp-tongued veteran in charge of a company of new seaman recruits on a San Diego naval base. Since all the men under his command seem to be from different racial and cultural backgrounds (black, Polish, Hispanic, etc.), Rickles’ Sharkey has plenty of ammunition for his insults and putdowns. Truth be told, he’s actually very fond of his men though, and usually must protect them from mealy-mouthed boss Lt. Whipple and gruff base commander Capt. Buckner.

A comedy showcase for the iconic Rickles, of course, the show also starred Jeff Hollis, Tom Ruben, David Landsberg, Barry Pearl, Richard Beauchamp, Harrison Page, Peter Isacksen and Jonathan Daly.

The three-disc set features all 15 episodes from Season One, along with one special feature: the legendary ‘70s clip from The Tonight Show of host Johnny Carson storming the CPO Sharkey set.
