Horror legends Vincent Price (The Ten Commandments), Christopher Lee (The House That Dripped Blood) and Peter Cushing (Star Wars: Episode IV- A New Hope) star in the 1970 cult crime-horror fave Scream and Scream Again.
Price is a rather transgressive surgeon, Lee is a mysteriously imperious investigator, and Cushing is a ruthlessly fascistic military man in this gruesome tale that concerns both the chase for a killer who drains his victims’ blood and brutal militaristic government interrogations of political prisoners.
Directed by Gordon Hessler (The Golden Voyage of Sinbad) and adapted from Peter Saxon’s novel The Disoriented Man by Christopher Wicking, the film was admired by director Fritz Lang of M and Metropolis fame, who reportedly enjoyed the film’s conspiratorial “police-state” political content.
Twilight Time’s upcoming release includes an audio commentary with film historians David Del Valle and Tim Sullivan, a new featurette exploring Hessler’s extensive work in horror cinema, an interview with co-star Uta Levka and a gallery of rare production stills.
As supplier Twilight Time prints up only 3,000 copies of each title, be sure to keep on the Twilight Time site or that of distributor Screen Archives for the Sept. 30.
