The French psychological thriller The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun is based on the novel of the same name by by Sébastien Japrisot (One Deadly Summer, A Very Long Engagement).

Dany’s fantasy joyride along the Mediterranean Coast quickly turns into a nightmare when a dead body is discovered hiding inside the trunk of her stolen car. While attempting to piece together the murder, Dany is soon battling her own psyche as she tries to understand how locals from a seaside town she’s never been to claim they have seen her before. Has she lost her mind, or is the quaint seaside town trying to pin her for a murder she didn’t commit?

Special features on Magnolia’s discs include an interview with director Joann Sfar (Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life) in which he discusses the development of the film, casting and his overall vision of the psychological thriller. Also known as a renowned comic book creator and artist, Sfar gives an intimate look at the artwork he was inspired to create while making the film.
