Described as a “refreshingly positive ode to the power of the internet” by the New York Post, the documentary film Presenting Princess Shaw celebrates the newfound connectivity of the YouTube generation and one struggling star’s aspiration for fame.

presentingprincessshaw1_optPresenting Princess Shaw follows Samantha Montgomery, an aspiring singer trying to make ends meet in one of New Orleans’s toughest neighborhoods. Under the name “Princess Shaw,” Samantha writes and sings her own songs, giving YouTubers a raw look at the obstacles she faces and the moments in life that inspire her to keep chasing her dreams. Unknowingly, she touches the heart of composer and video artist Ophir Kutiel (a.k.a “Kutiman”). He later uses her empowering vocals to create a video mash up with other amateur YouTube performers, capturing the attention of millions.

The movie wowed the critics during its limited theatrical run in June, earning a 94% positive rating at aggregator Rotten Tomatoes based on 34 published reviews.

Special features on the DVD include exclusive videos and clips with Princess Shaw and original music from the rising star.
