The family adventure documentary film The Eagle Huntress is a true story of girl empowerment, following Aisholpan, a 13-year-old girl, as she trains to become the first female in 12 generations of her Kazakh family to become an eagle hunter. In doing so, she rises to the pinnacle of a tradition that has been handed down from father to son for centuries.

Set along the breathtaking expanse of the Mongolian Steppe and featuring some of the most awe-inspiring cinematography we’ve seen in quite a while, the movie is directed by Otto Bell and narrated by Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Force Awakens).

Presented in Kazakh with English subtitles, The Eagle Huntress received an outstanding 93% Fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes based on the 96 published reviews it received upon its Stateside theatrical rollout in December, 2016.

Oh, and the G-rated foreign film also features an end credits song by Sia and, as bonus features, a commentary by director Bell and a behind-the-scenes featurette!
