Inspired by a true story, Matthew McConaughey is Kenny Wells, a prospector desperate for a lucky break, who teams up with a similarly eager geologist. The two subsequentlyset off on an amazing journey to find gold in the uncharted jungle of Indonesia. Getting the gold was hard, but keeping it would be even harder, sparking an adventure through the most powerful boardrooms of Wall Street. The film is inspired by a true story.

Directed by Stephen Gaghan (Syriana), and written by Patrick Massett and John Zinman, the film’s cast includes Edgar Ramirez (Zero Dark Thirty), Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), Corey Stoll (Cafe Society), Stacy Keach (Fat City) and Bruce Greenwood (Good Kill).

The home entertainment release is packed with bonus features including a feature commentary with director Stephen Gaghan, a deleted sequence of the film, an exploration of the movie’s origins, a journey through Gold’s locations, and a behind-the-scenes look at McConaughey’s performance.

This film was more like Fool’s Gold: It received a miserable 42% Fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes based upon 158 published reviews and rung up a disastrous $7.2 million at the domestic box office during its wide theatrical release in January, 2017.
