Director Robert Mulligan (To Kill a Mockingbird) brings us another touching coming-of-age drama set in a small Southern town, The Man in the Moon (1991), focusing on two sisters (Reese Witherspoon, in her film debut, and Emily Warfield).

Mother (Tess Harper, Fatal Secrets) and father (Sam Waterston, The Killing Fields) are wary of potential suitors, and yet one (Jason London) arrives, throwing the family into a kind of turmoil. Gail Strickland also stars; the film is shot by the legendary Freddie Francis (The Innocents) and features a score by James Newton Howard.

Twilight Time’s Blu-ray edition of the movie includes an isolated music track and an original theatrical trailer as bonus features.
