Still going strong, Netflix’s acclaimed and popular TV show Orange is the New Black: Season Four has the same comedy-drama style — and addictive storylines — as creator Jenji Cohan’s earlier show, Weeds.

Based on the best-selling memoir by Piper Kerman, Orange is the New Black stars Taylor Schilling (The Lucky One) as Piper Chapman, a Brooklynite who’s about to embark on a new business venture, selling custom candles, when her wild past with Alex Vause (Laura Prepon, The Kitchen) comes back to haunt her.

To pay her debt to society, Piper turns herself into Litchfield Federal Penitentiary, where she dons her orange jumpsuit and comes face to face with Alex as well as a cell full of eccentric inmates.

The latest season of Orange Is the New Black, timed to the series’ Season Five premiere, delves into the racial and economic tensions that run rampant in the halls of Litchfield. Overrun with new inmates and overseen by inexperienced guards, the prison undergoes an unprecedented culture war.

Kate Mulgrew (TV’s Star Trek: Voyager), Natasha Lyonne (Sleeping with Other People), Lea DeLaria (The Edge of Seventeen) and Taryn Manning (TV’s Sons of Anarchy) also star in the TV series.
