The strange 1959 interstellar cult science fiction adventure The Angry Red Planet arrives on Blu-ray courtesy of Shout! Factory.

The first spaceship to Mars, presumed lost, is found in space and brought back to Earth by remote control. Only two from an initial crew of four are still alive, but one is unconscious due to an attached alien growth, while the other is traumatized, blocking out all memory of what happened. In hopes to save the unconscious crewman, the amnesiac is interrogated back into remembering their awful journey to the distant planet…

The flick, directed by Ib Melchior, features Martian creatures like the leggy and very hairy “batratspidercrab,” alongside flesh-eating plants and a rolling amoeba with rotating eyes. Mmmm…

Featuring a new HD transfer taken from the interpositive, the Blu-ray also includes a stills gallery and trailer.
