The 1984 drama Country, a gritty account of rural America, stars Jessica Lange (Tootsie) and the late Sam Shepard (Blackthorn).

Lange and Shepard are Jewell and Gil Ivy, who work the land in America’s heartland on a farm that has bound their family together for generations. The land has always been their life, so when government bureaucrats decide to take it all away, the Ivy’s decide to stay on their land and fight the greedy land grabbers.

The great character actors Wilford Brimley (Cocoon) and Matt Clark (The Driver) co-star in the film, written by William D. Wittliff (Raggedy Man) and directed by Richard Pearce (Heartland).

The discs include an audio commentary by film historian Lee Gambin and a theatrical trailer as bonus features.
