George Segal stars in The Quiller Memorandum (1966), a coolly quiet thriller espionage tale directed by Michael Anderson (TV’s The Martian Chronicles).
Segal portrays an American spy assigned by British handlers (including George Sanders, Robert Helpmann, and the superb Alec Guinness) to infiltrate a neo-Nazi cell in Berlin. Along the way, he encounters an enigmatic woman (Senta Berger, If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium), a menacing if intelligent villain (Max von Sydow, The Magician), and has to rely on his own wits when he realizes that neither side is definitively trustworthy.
The crime drama offers a deft screenplay by Harold Pinter and a sensational score from John Barry.
Special features include the following
-Isolated Score Track
-Audio Commentary with Film Historians Eddy Friedfeld and Lee Pfeiffer
-Original Theatrical Trailer
